A bit about woodworker David J. Klenk

Before that he studied fine woodworking and furniture making at the College of the Redwoods, in Fort Bragg California and completed design courses at the Boston Architectural Center.

bio photo - David J KlenkAs a designer David often collaborates with other craftspeople to create custom interiors that offer clients a level of creativity and quality that can't be found elsewhere. When he is not working on custom interiors David designs and builds the products that he sells at the Center for Maine Crafts in West Gardiner. David also exhibits his work at fine craft shows through out New England.

David's products include small boxes, totes, tables and chairs, and clocks. The products are generally made from North American hardwoods including maple, cherry and oak. Additionally, the works include fine joinery, custom hardware and a hand rubbed finish. The finishes used are either shellac, varnish or linseed oil. After the application, it’s rubbed to a silky smooth polish and protected with two coats of wax.

Recent projects include the woodwork and furniture for the restoration of an antique home in Limerick, Maine; custom work for a client in Colts Neck, New Jersey; and a display of David's work at the Artful Gift show at Point Lookout near Camden, Maine.

In the year 2010 David will be displaying his designs at the Inspired Hand IV show in Lewiston, Maine and at the CraftBoston show in Boston Massachusetts.  More information about these shows and David's work can be requested by emailing David.
